Removing and installing fuel system components
Checking fuel pump non-return valve (engine codes: DX, EG, JH, JJ, KT)

Note:

In this test the fuel supply pipe connections between the fuel pump and the connection of the pressure gauge V.A.G.1318 are also tested for leaks.

Unscrew fuel pipe from fuel filter.

  • ‒ → Connect pressure gauge V.A.G.1318 to fuel filter with adapter V.A.G.1318/23.
Important!
The pressure gauge valve must be closed for pressure text (lever at right angle to direction of flow - Position B).
  • ‒ Connect remote control V.A.G 1348/3A .
  • ‒ Press switch of remote control until pressure of approx. 5 bar has been reached (pressure in excess of 6 bar should be reduced to 5 bar by carefully opening valve by small amount).
Important!
Danger of spraying when valve is opened container should be held in front of free opening of the pressure gauge.

Note:

If a pressure of 5 bar is not reached, either pipe connections or the non-return valve are leaking.

  • ‒ Note decrease in pressure. According to wich pressure accumulator is installed, after 10 minutes pressure must not fall bellow
