| When installing bearing caps, note that caps are not symmetrical; before installing bearing cap, set in place and determine fitting position. |

| Oil running surfaces of camshaft. |

| Tighten bearing caps 2 and 5 alternately and diagonally to 20 Nm. |

| Install bearing caps 1 and 3 and also tighten to 20 Nm. |
| –
| Fit camshaft pulley and tighten to 80 Nm (using counterhold tool -3036-). |
| –
| Install toothed belt and tension (adjust valve timing) → Chapter. |
Note | When new bucket tappets have been installed the engine must not be started for about 30 minutes. Hydraulic compensation elements must settle (otherwise valves will strike pistons). |
