Notes:

  • ◆ If a vehicle has to be moved after removing the drive shaft, first install an outer joint and tighten to 50 Nm otherwise the wheel bearing will damaged.
  • ◆ It is not permitted to carry out welding and straightening operations on load bearing suspension components or those components which locate the wheels.
  • ◆ Always renew self-locking nuts.
  • ◆ Always renew corroded nuts/bolts.

    • ◆ When removing, first remove hub

  • Dished washer
    • ◆ Concave side (hollow side) faces backplate
  • Hexagon socket head bolt, 65 Nm
  • Circlip
    • ◆ Ensure seated correctly

  • Hexagon bolt, 110 Nm

  • Self-locking hexagon nut
    • ◆ Tighten first to 90 Nm and then turn 45 °further(1/8turn)
    • ◆ To tighten we recommend angle measuring wrench V.A.G 1756
    • ◆ Before fitting nut to outer joint remove any paint remains and/or corrosion from threads.

  • ‒ Drive rotor off outer joint using a drift (rotor will be destroyed).
  • ‒ Drive new rotor carefully onto stop using a plastic hammer.

  •     A -    Commercial type puller e.g. Kukko 20/10 and hooks approx. 200 mm long.
