Tensioning V-belts > < Removing and installing power assisted steering vane pump, vehicles with 1.8 ltr., 1.9 ltr., 2.0 ltr. engine

Installing vane pump

Note:

Seating surfaces and threads must be free of paint on both sides of the vane pump.

  • ‒ → Secure vane pump -1- with bolts -3- in swivel bracket -2-.
  • ‒ Install bolts -4- and tighten.
  • ‒ Install belt pulley -6- on vane pump -1- and tighten.

Tightening torque:

  •     3 -    Hexagon bolt, 25 Nm
  •     4 -    Hexagon bolt, 25 Nm

  •     5 -    Hexagon socket head bolt, 25 Nm
  • ‒ → Secure swivel bracket -2- and pump using fitting bolts -3- to mounting -4-.
  • ‒ Screw fitted bolt -3- into swivel bracket -2- M 10 until threaded bush contacts the mounting -4- (do not tighten).
  • ‒ Install hexagon bolt -5-, (do not tighten).

  • ‒ → Fit mounting -4- together with vane pump and swivel bracket to console -5- and engine block.
  • ‒ First screw bolts 1, 2 and 3 in a couple of turns and then tighten in sequence as numbered.

Nut -9- is only fitted to vehicles with petrol engines.

Tightening torque:

Hexagon bolts 1, 2 and 3; 25 Nm

  • ‒ Fit adjustment bracket -7- using hexagon bolts -6- to engine block.
  • ‒ Fit adjustment bolt -8- to swivel bracket.
  • ‒ Tighten hexagon bolts -6- to 25 Nm.
  • ‒ Install V-belt and tension.
