Removing and installing CCS vacuum pump (V18) > < Removing and installing vent valve

Mechanical cruise control system (CCS) in petrol and diesel engine vehicles (not TDI and SDI)
Removing and installing CCS control unit (J213)

Removing:

  • ‒ Remove drivers' side dash panel trim
  • ‒ Pull 12 pin connector off cruise control system control unit (J 213), located behind assembly carrier on left A-pillar

Only for vehicles with anti-theft warning system:

  • ‒ Pull 6 pin and 10 pin connector off anti-theft system control unit (J 284), located behind assembly carrier on left A-pillar

Note:

For vehicles with anti-theft warning system, the anti-theft warning system control unit (J 284) and cruise control system control unit (J213) are located on the same securing plate.

  • ‒ → Remove hexagon nut -1- from assembly carrier, near left A-pillar
  •      2 -     Cruise control system control unit (J 213)
  • ‒ Pull securing plate locking lugs out from assembly carrier and pull securing plate with control unit out from behind assembly carrier
  • ‒ Remove control unit securing bolts from securing plate
