• ◆ 3121 Drift

• ◆ 3120 Reamer and cutting fluid

Removing

• ‒ Clean and check cylinder head. Cylinder heads in which the valve seats can no longer be reworked (note minimum dimension => page 15-38, fig.1), should not have the valve guides replaced.
• ‒ Press out worn valve guides with drift 3121 from the camshaft side (repair versions with shoulder - from the combustion chamber side).

Installing

• ‒ Press in new guides, moistened with oil, from camshaft side onto shoulder in cold cylinder head using drift 3121.

Note:

When the shoulder on guide makes contact the pressure must not exceed 10 kN (approx. 1.0 t) otherwise the shoulder may break off.

• ‒ Ream valve guide using hand reamer 3120. Always use cutting fluid when doing this.
• ‒ Rework valve seats .
