Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  extractor lever -T20143/2-
  W00-2958
t  Drip tray -V.A.G 1306-
  W00-0512
t  Thrust piece -T10243-
Vehicles with 6-cylinder petrol engine and vehicles with turbo diesel engine without particulate filter
–  Remove bevel box → Chapter.
Vehicles with turbo diesel engine with particulate filter up to approx. 10.09
–  Remove bevel box → Chapter.
Vehicles with turbo diesel engine and particulate filter (Golf 2009 ► and CC from approx. 11.09, Passat 2011 ►)
–  Remove bevel box → Chapter.
Continuation for all
–  Place drip tray -V.A.G 1306- underneath.
–  Lever out bevel box seal with extractor tool -T20143/2- or oil seal extractor -VW 681-.
  W00-10219
–  Half-fill space between sealing lip and dust lip -arrow- with sealing grease -G 052 128 A1-.
–  Lightly oil outer circumference of new oil seal.
  N32-0001
–  Drive in seal to stop.
Vehicles with 6-cylinder petrol engine and vehicles with turbo diesel engine without particulate filter
–  Install bevel box → Chapter.
Vehicles with turbo diesel engine with particulate filter up to approx. 10.09
–  Install bevel box → Chapter.
Vehicles with turbo diesel engine and particulate filter (Golf 2009 ► and CC from approx. 11.09, Passat 2011 ►)
–  Install bevel box → Chapter.
Continuation for all
–  Check gear oil in bevel box → Chapter.
–  Check gear oil in gearbox → Chapter.
