Checking oil level in Haldex coupling
Checking oil level in Haldex coupling
Test conditions
l  The oil temperature must be between 20 and 40 °C .
l  Vehicle level.
t  The oil temperature can be attained by running engine until warm.
Perform the following steps:
–  With ignition switched off, connect vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system -VAS 5051B- to diagnostic connection → Chapter.
–  Select „Running gear (Rep Gr 01; 40...49)“ on display.
–  Select „All-wheel drive with Haldex coupling“ on display.
–  Select „01 - Self-diagnosis-capable systems“ on display.
–  Select „Haldex all-wheel drive“ on display.
–  Select „Electrical components“ on display.
–  Select „Oil temperature“ on display.
Check fluid level
   
–  Remove oil filler plug -arrow-. (For sake of clarity, shown with final drive removed.)
Oil level is correct when Haldex coupling is filled to lower edge, or at least to within about 3 mm of lower edge, of filler hole.
–  Tighten bolt -arrow- to 15 Nm.
