1 - Bolt
q   Renew.
q   60 Nm + turn 90° further
2 - Dual-mass flywheel
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
q   Assembly through offset holes only possible in one position
3 - Bolt
q   Specified torque and tightening sequence → Fig..
4 - Intermediate plate
q   Must seat on dowel pins.
q   Take care to avoid damaging or bending.
q   Is fitted onto sealing flange → Fig.
5 - Cylinder block
6 - Dowel pin
7 - Sealing flange, gearbox side
q   with shaft seal
q   Renew complete unit only → Chapter.
q   Do not oil or grease sealing lip of shaft seal.
q   Use guide sleeve supplied when fitting.
q   Do not remove guide sleeve until sealing flange has been slid onto crankshaft journal.

   
Sealing flange on gearbox side - Prescribed torque and tightening sequence
–  Tighten bolts for sealing flange on gearbox end in 3 stages as follows:
1.  Hand-tighten bolts -1 … 8- until stop is reached.
2.  Tighten bolts -1 … 6- in diagonal sequence to 15 Nm.
3.  Tighten bolts -7- and -8- to 15 Nm.

Installing intermediate plate
–  Hook intermediate plate onto sealing flange and slide onto dowel pins -arrows-.
