Removing and installing front exhaust pipe
Removing and installing front exhaust pipe
Removing
–  Remove engine cover/air filter → Chapter.
   
–  Disconnect connector for Lambda probe -G39--arrow- and lay cable aside.

–  Unscrew securing nuts -arrows- from front exhaust pipe/turbocharger.

–  Unscrew nuts -arrows- and pull underbody cover down slightly.

–  Disconnect connector for Lambda probe after catalytic converter -G130--arrow- and lay cable aside.

–  Unbolt bracket for exhaust system -arrows-.
  A10-1632
–  Remove cross member for underbody -arrows-.
  Caution
Avoid damage to flexible joints.
Do not bend flexible joint in front exhaust pipe more than 10°.
–  Loosen clamp -1- and push to rear.
–  Detach front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter.
Installing
Install in reverse order. In the process, note the following:
t  Coat studs of turbocharger with high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-.
t  Renew seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts.
t  Aligning exhaust system free of stress → Chapter.
