Removing and installing fuel pressure sender -G247-
Special tools and workshop equipment required

  W00-1148
t  Double hexagon socket, 1/2", 27 mm -VAS 5301/7-
  WARNING
Observe safety precautions when releasing fuel pressure in high-pressure section → Chapter
For reasons of safety when opening fuel system, remove fuse for fuel pump control unit -J538- from fuse holder. This prevents the fuel pump from being activated by driver door contact switch. Fuse assignment → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
Removing
  W00-10662
–  Loosen coolant pipe and oil dipstick guide from intake manifold -arrows- and pull oil dipstick guide upwards from engine.
–  Release connector from fuel pressure sender -G247- with assembly tool -T10118-.
  WARNING
The fuel line is under pressure.
Risk of injury to eyes and skin from fuel.
Wear eye protection and protective clothing to avoid eye injuries and skin contact. Before loosening hose connections, wrap a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully opening the connection point.
–  Unscrew fuel pressure sender -G247- using double hexagon socket 1/2", 27 mm -VAS 5301/7-.
Installing
Install in reverse order. In the process, note the following:
Specified torques → Chapter.
