  Note
t  Removing and installing exhaust manifold → Chapter.
t  After working on the exhaust system, ensure that the system is not under stress and that there is sufficient clearance to the bodywork. If necessary, loosen double clamp and align silencer and exhaust pipe so that sufficient clearance is maintained to the bodywork and the support rings are evenly loaded.
t  If particulate filter or pressure differential sender -G 505- is exchanged, pressure differential sender -G 505- must be adapted using vehicle diagnosis tester: Guided functions; Adapting pressure differential sender -G 505-.
t  Renew self-locking nuts.
   
1 - Pressure differential sender -G 505-
2 - Connector
3 - 10 Nm
4 - Shield
5 - Lambda probe -G 39-
q   50 Nm
q   Grease only thread with high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-.
q   The high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3- must not get into the slots on the probe body.
q   To remove use Lambda probe open ring spanner set -3337-.
6 - Exhaust gas temperature sender 4 -G 648-
7 - Gasket
q   Renew
q   Note installation position.
8 - Clamp, 7 Nm
9 - Exhaust gas temperature sender 3 -G 495-
q   45 Nm
q   Tightening → Chapter.
10 - 25 Nm
11 - Mounting
q   Renew if damaged.
12 - Particulate filter
q   With oxidation catalytic converter and front exhaust pipe.
q   After replacing the particulate filter, set to „0“ via adaption of ash mass calibration. → Vehicle diagnostic tester„Guided functions“.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
13 - 25 Nm
14 - Bracket
q   Replacing particulate filter bracket with riveted stud bolt → Electronic parts catalogue.
q   This is the only way to apply the necessary tightening torque.
15 - Control line, 45 Nm
16 - Bracket
q   Bolted to diesel particulate filter
17 - Clip
q   Renew
18 - Bracket
q   Bolted to cylinder head.
19 - 25 Nm
20 - 3 Nm
21 - 3 Nm
22 - 8 Nm
23 - 25 Nm

   
Installation position of clamp
  N26-0568
–  Position double clamp -a- = 5 mm from marking on front exhaust pipe of particulate filter.
–  Install clamp so that bolt ends do not protrude beyond lower edge of clamp -arrow-.
