t  Hand vacuum pump -VAS 6213-

t  Make an -adapter- from a high-pressure line.
t  During further work this carefully cleaned adapter is to be connected to the high-pressure connection on the high-pressure pump, free of stress. 20 Nm
l  Tests on fuel low-pressure side have been performed and were not cause for complaint.
l  Return flow rate at high-pressure pump has been checked and was not cause for complaint → Chapter.
l  Fuel tank is filled with clean fuel according to standard → Chapter.
l  Starter turning at starting speed ≥ 230revs/min. → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27 Anlasser, Stromversorgung
l  Observe instructions for working on fuel system → Chapter
»Carry out the following work sequence«
  N23-10482
–  Remove high-pressure fuel line -2- between high-pressure pump and high-pressure accumulator → Item.
  A23-10432
–  Connect cleaned, custom-made adapter to high-pressure connection on high-pressure pump, tighten to 20 Nm.
–  Connect hand-operated vacuum pump -VAS 6213- to custom-made adapter.
–  Using hand-operated vacuum pump -VAS 6213-, apply pressure of at least 1 bar.
If high-pressure pump is OK, pressure remains constant for 30 s.
If high-pressure pump is defective, pressure drops within 2 ... 3 s to 0 bar
Repeat check if necessary, observe pressure loss at hand-operated vacuum pump -VAS 6213-.
–  Renew high-pressure pump → Chapter.
