Removing and installing Hall sender
Removing and installing Hall sender
–  Remove engine cover panel → Chapter.
–  Remove fuel filter → Fuel supply - Diesel engines; Rep. gr.20.
–  Remove supplementary fuel pump -V393- or fuel pump 2 -V277- → Fuel supply - Diesel engines; Rep. gr.20.
   
–  Pull connector off radiator outlet coolant temperature sender -G83-, open clips -arrows- and remove toothed belt guard.
  Note
Only the Tiguan is equipped with 2 different types of rear toothed belt guard having different apertures for the Hall sender G40. With the old version -I-, which has since been discontinued, the G40 and its connector cannot be fed through the toothed belt guard. This toothed belt guard must be removed to renew the Hall sender G40.
–  Determine which type of rear toothed belt guard is installed.
