Removing and installing differential pressure sensor
  Note
Pressure differential sender -G505- determines charge status of particulate filter. It can be connected via two lines before and after the particulate filter or only with one line before the particulate filter. In this case the differential sender measures ambient pressure with an open line and calculates differential pressure with it.
Removing
–  Remove engine cover panel → Chapter.

–  Disconnect electrical connector -2-.
–  Unscrew bolt -3-, pull pressure differential sender -G505- from bracket -arrow-.
–  Remove retaining clips from both hoses.
–  Pull hoses carefully and straight from unions (unions break off pressure sensor very easily).
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Specified torque → Chapter
  Note
t  Before installing, blow out control lines of pressure differential sender -G505- to particulate filter with compressed air towards particulate filter (blocked or iced up due to condensation).
t  Make sure that hoses are securely fitted and seal properly.
t  If pressure hoses have been detached from particulate filter, tighten → Chapter.
Adaptation must be performed after renewing pressure differential sender -G505- and/or particulate filter. (The procedure is also described under Guided Functions).
Select correct vehicle in Guided fault finding.
–  Press „GoTo“ button.
–  Press „Function/component selection“.
–  Select „drive (Rep. Gr. 01; 10 - 39)“.
–  Select respective engine code.
–  „01 - Self-diagnosis compatible systems“
–  Select „01 - Diesel direct injection and glow plug system EDC 17“.
–  Select „01 - Functions“.
–  Select „01 - Reset programmed values of pressure differential sender (PDS)“.
