Removing and installing fuel pressure sender -G247-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Assembly tool -T10118-
  W00-1148
t  Deep hexagon socket, 27 mm -VAS 5301/7-
Removing:
  WARNING
The fuel system is pressurised! The fuel pressure in the high-pressure part of the injection system must be reduced to a residual pressure.
t  Releasing pressure in high-pressure area (engine codes CAWA, CAWB, CBFA, CCTA, CCTB, BZB, CGYA, CDAA, CDAB) → Chapter.
t  Releasing pressure in high pressure area (engine codes CCZA, CCZB, CCZC, CCZD) → Chapter.
Vehicles with sound generator:
–  Remove charge air duct to sound generator → Chapter.
All:
  W00-10662
–  Remove retainer from top of alternator -C--arrow-.
  N24-10497
All:
–  Detach coolant pipe from intake manifold -arrows-.
  A24-10446
–  Release connector from fuel pressure sender -G247- using assembly tool -T10118-.
–  Unscrew fuel pressure sender -G247- using deep hexagon socket, 27 mm -VAS 5301/7-.
–  Collect escaping fuel with a cleaning cloth.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
Lubricate sealing cone of fuel pressure sender -G247- with clean engine oil.
–  Specified torques → Chapter.
