General notes
General notes
In the Golf, the connection for external audio sources is provided in the form of a 3.5 mm stereo jack socket. The fitting location is as follows:

In the Golf saloon, on the outside of the centre console
  N91-11064
In the Golf Plus, in the storage compartment of the centre console
The connection for external audio sources functions with Volkswagen radio or radio navigation systems in which „AUX“ source selection is possible on the radio unit.
On the connection for external audio sources, audio signals (generally headphone output signals) from MP3 players, portable CD and cassette players can be fed into the radio or radio navigation system with an appropriate line connection. These can then be played via the vehicle loudspeakers.
For more detailed information, refer to the → operating instructions for the corresponding radio unit or radio navigation system.
  Note
On the radio navigation system -RNS 310-, the connection for external audio sources is integrated in the RNS unit. For further information, refer to the → operating manual of the radio navigation system -RNS 310-.
