Fault finding
The control unit for the multifunction steering wheel only communicates with the control unit for steering column electronics. The data commands are refreshed there for subsequent communication with the control units connected to the output (radio system, multifunction display „MFA“ and telephone system).
The multifunction steering wheel is equipped with self-diagnosis.
In the event of repair work or fault finding, use → vehicle diagnosis, testing and information systemVAS 5051 or vehicle diagnosis and service information systemVAS 5052 in „Guided fault finding“ mode → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
