‹› Do not insert the sheet metal screw too deep in order to avoid damaging the bearing lying behind it.

-

Remove the seal using (T10055) and (T10055/2).

-

Remove the cloth and clean the area.

There must be no metal shavings in the transmission and in flange shaft, vacuum up any if necessary.

‹› If only the metal ring of the seal could be pulled out, carefully pry out the remainder of the seal using a screwdriver.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:

-

Lubricate the outer circumference and sealing lips of the seal with Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF).

Installed position:

The open side of the seal faces the transmission.

Drive in the seal until seated using (T10176), do not tilt the seal while doing this.

Install the drive axle.

-

Check the ATF fluid level and top off if necessary. Refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling ] See: Fluid -

Install the noise insulation.
