Operation sequence
Operation sequence
–  Remove air filter body → Fig.
–  Remove ignition cable connectors from spark plugs using the Puller -T10029-.
–  Remove the Spark plugs -Q- with the Spark plug wrench -3122B-.
   
–  Disconnect the 3-pole connector for the Sensor Hall -G40--arrow-.

–  Disconnect the 4-pole connector from the Ignition transformer -N152--arrow- .

–  Remove fuse 25 from fuse holder.
  Note
Removing fuse 25 interrupts the power supply to the injectors.
–  Check compression with the Cylinder compression tester - petrol/ethanol/diesel -VAG 1763- or Adapter for VAG 1763 -VAG 1381/12-.
  Note
The testing device operation is described in the respective operation instructions.
–  Request another mechanic to step on the accelerator pedal, so the throttle valve (butterfly) completely opens when the starter is started.
–  Operate the starter motor until there is no more increase in the pressure of the testing device.

–  Install Spark plugs -Q- with the Spark plug wrench -3122B- and tighten to 30 Nm.
–  Install Spark plug connectors -P...- by using the Puller -T10029-.
–  Check event memory, eliminate existing faults, then erase event memory → Chapter.
