–
| Remove the supply hose -1- from the fuel
filter inlet and connect it to Adapting set -VAG
1318/17-. |
–
| Attach the Adapting set -VAG 1318/17- with connector -1- to the Pressure
gauge -VAG 1318-. |
–
| Connect the Pressure gauge -VAG 1318- to the Adapter -VAG 1318/11- and Adapter set -VAG 1318/16-. |
–
| The end of the Adapting set -VAG 1318/16- should be installed in a 3.0-liter (minimum) graduated container. |
Note To unfasten fuel lines, press the safety key. |
Follow procedures below for both engines. |
–
| Close the valve on the Pressure gauge -VAG 1318- (valve transverse to the flow direction - position -B-) . |
–
| Activate the Remote control -VAG 1348/3A- in quick consecutive intervals, until reaching a pressure of
approx. 3.0 bar for BAH engine and 4.2 bar for BPA/CCRA engines. |
WARNING The fuel system is kept under pressure, when opening the valve,
hold a container in front of the free connection on the pressure meter. |
|
–
| Reduce possible excessive pressure by opening the valve
carefully. |
–
| Check the pressure drop on the Pressure gauge -VAG 1318-. After 10 minutes, the pressure must not
drop below 2.0 bar. |
If the pressure keeps dropping: |
–
| Check the joints for tightness. |
If no irregularities are found in the cables: |
–
| Fuel pump (pre-supply pump) -G6- - damaged, replace it. |
