Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair
Long Cable (Multilink)

BRAKE CABLE, REPLACEMENT (MULTILINK)

Short cables on left and right-hand sides.

AE1

- Slacken parking brake adjuster.

AE2

- Jack up and support rear of car. Remove wheel.

‹› Mark wheel position if locating stud is not fitted.

- Remove brake caliper:

‹› Tie up caliper with steel wire to avoid damage to brake hose.

- Remove brake disc:

Note:  Mark brake disc (with X) to indicate position with respect to locating stud. Remove locating stud and disc.

- Remove parking brake shoes.

AE6

- Disconnect short right-hand cable from long cable.

AE7

- Remove:

‹› expander from cable
‹› locking clip from cable
‹› cable

Installation

- Lubricate cable 0-ring with vaseline.
