Evaporator Core Cleaning
WARNING: Read warning text on cleaning agent pack. Use safety goggles when spraying.
CAUTION: Seal opening around nozzle with cloth when spraying to prevent leakage of spray mist into car interior.
NOTE: Necessary Equipment and Materials: Volvo anti-rust spray - Part Number 1159611-1, safety goggles, cloths and vacuum cleaner. Cleaning
agent - Part Number 1161454-2.
1. Preparations for spraying:

Open evaporator drain. Check that evaporator drain is clear. Clean as required. Place container under drain.

Start and run engine up to working temperature. Select recirculation. Set temperature control to max. heat and blower selector to max. speed.
All vents should be fully open.

Switch off A/C compressor by disconnecting lead (arrowed in illustration) from pressostat.
NOTE: Compressor will start unless lead is disconnected and control is set to defroster position.

Allow engine to run at working temperature for 20 minutes to expel all moisture from evaporator. Carry our operation in next step while
engine is running up to temperature.
