Malfunction Lamp / Indicator: Description and Operation

The system is monitored continuously by a microprocessor in the crash sensor. Any fault or condition which occurs is stored in memory, while the
instrument panel warning lamp also lights. The warning lamp lights together with other lamps on the panel to test its integrity when the ignition is turned
On. When the engine is started the lamp goes off, indicating the system is operating properly.
If the engine is not started after turning the ignition On, the lamp will go off after approximately 0.0 seconds. If the lamp remains lit while driving, an
SRS condition is indicated. Once a condition has been detected, the warning lamp will remain lit until the condition has been corrected and the memory
cleared. If the lamp fails to light, this indicates a faulty bulb or a shorted lead.
