Recall Campaign 74 M/Y '92 and '93 745 & 900 Series "D" Ring
Volvo Cars of North America, Inc. and Volvo Canada Ltd. have announced a safety recall affecting certain 1992 and 1993 model year 745 and 900
series vehicles. It has been determined that a defect exists in the front seat belt webbing guide (B pillar "D" ring). Approximately 10,117 vehicles in the
U.S. and 424 vehicles in Canada are involved in this recall.

An initial allocation representing 50% of the vehicles retailed or in stock at your retail facility will be made starting on or about the week of July 3, 1995.
After this one time allocation you may order additional quantities using normal ordering procedures.

Dear Volvo Owner,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Volvo has decided that a defect
which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in the seat belt anchorage of certain 1992 and 1993 model year Volvo 745, 940, and 960 series vehicles.
There is the possibility that the seat belt guide on the upper seat belt anchorage for the front seats does not meet Volvo specifications. As a result, the
seat belt may not perform as intended in a severe accident. If this occurs, there is a risk of personal injury.
Volvo will install reinforcing washers on the seat belt guides at no charge to you. The time needed for this service procedure is about 25 minutes.
However, due to service scheduling times, your retailer may need your vehicle for one full working day. Please contact your authorized Volvo retailer to
arrange for this repair.
