Engine running, upper control range regulation

When the voltage at the base of transistor T3 approaches the upper control limit the zener diode Z directs the current through collector K. This current
will cut out transistor T2, which in turn influences transistor T1.
The rotor magnetic field stops and the alternator voltage drops.

Working principles

Operation Of Current to DF is Continuously Controlled

This on/off cycle is continuously repeated and consequently the current to DF is continuously controlled.

Temperature compensation

A cold battery requires a higher charging voltage. The voltage regulator is consequently equipped with a thermistor, a thermal resistor, which will
increase the control voltage at low temperatures.

Alternator with built-in voltage regulator
