Replacement of upper bushing in differential housing, multi-link suspension only
The illustration at the top of page 25 shows how the upper bushing is pressed into the differential housing. In the illustration, however, the bushing is
shown being pressed in from the wrong direction.
Please write at the top of page 25 in the manual "See SB 65-701, May 1992".
This bulletin describes how the tools are used, and how the bushing is removed and installed. Tools used: 999 5354, parts 1 and 2 (removal) and parts 3
and 4 (installation).
Removal
See pages 24 and 25 in the above service manual.
Use press tools 1 and 2. Mark position of bushing(s).
Press in new bushing
Use press tool 5354, parts 3 and 4.
Position part 3 with recess facing housing to ensure bushing is centered (see illustration for positioning of part 4).
