Remove bearing and locking ring

-

Use press tool 5212.

-

Slide seal and pressure plate upwards until divided press plate can be placed on bearing.

-

Place press yoke over press plate.

NOTE: Opening in press plate must be positioned at 90 degrees to opening in yoke.

1 = Press yoke
2 = Divided press plate
3 = Counterhold

Grease new bearing before placing on drive shaft

-

Pack space between inner and outer races with grease.

-

Continue until grease emerges from opposite side of bearing.

NOTE: It is extremely important that bearing be completely packed with grease.

Grease new seals, both Inner and outer

-

Pack space between seal lips with grease.

Press bearing onto shaft

-

Place pressure plate and seal in correct position on shaft.

-

Place greased bearing and new locking ring on shaft.

-

Position ring 5242 over bearing and locking ring.

-

Place drive shaft in press. 

-

Support ring 5010 on two V-blocks.

-

Press shaft until bearing and locking ring are seated in position.

-

Use handle 1801.
