Wastegate: Service and Repair
Housing
1.
Loosen catalytic converter to exhaust pipe bolts. Use anti-rust solution on bolts.
Disconnecting Exhaust Pipe From Turbo Charger
2.
Remove bell housing to exhaust pipe clamp.
3.
Remove exhaust pipe to turbo charger nuts. Use anti-rust solution on studs. Remove exhaust pipe from charger.
Wastegate Valve Parts
4.
Remove diaphragm rod clip.
5.
Remove rod from wastegate valve shaft.
6.
Remove wastegate valve housing nuts. Use anti-rust solution on studs.
Wastegate Housing And Gasket
7.
Remove wastegate valve housing.
8.
Clean wastegate valve housing or replace.
9.
Install wastegate valve housing using a new gasket, new nuts and anti-seize on studs. Torque nuts to:
14 ft.lb (20 Nm)
