Install seal

Lubricate lip of seal with Volvo wheel bearing grease, P/N 1161241-3. Place seal on tool 999 5538 (against side of tool marked 1031).

Press in seal Use press tool 999 5504.

Press on drive flange

Use press tool 999 5506. Used new, oiled nut. Axial play is not permissible. 

- Torque: 180-200 N-m (133-147 ft.lbs) 

Note! 

200 N-m (147 ft.lbs) must not be exceeded, otherwise load on pinion bearing may be excessive, leading to bearing failure. Use counterhold 999
5561.

Check radial runout of pinion 

Mount:

dial gauge stand 999 5594 on final drive
