Connect rear universal joint to drive flange

1.

If original propeller shaft is reinstalled but final drive flange has not been removed or replaced, or if propeller shaft rear universal joint has been
replaced:

Connect joint to flange in accordance with marking applied when dismantling. Use new bolts of same length as those removed.

2.

If propeller shaft has been replaced, or if drive flange on final drive has been removed or replaced:

Connect joint to flange with pink marking on shaft as close to marking on flange as permitted by hole spacing. Use new bolts of standard length.

Tighten bolts diagonally, first to 8 N-m (6 ft.lbs), then to 30 N-m (22 ft.lbs). Commence tightening with the same bolt on each occasion.

Install front universal joint 
Use new bolts and nuts. 
Tighten bolts diagonally to 50 N-m (37 ft.lbs). 
Use tool 999 5244.

Tighten bolts

tighten intermediate bearing support bolts

-

tighten intermediate bearing bolts

Torque: 25 N-m (18 ft.lbs).

Install:
-

tank support. Torque: 20 N-m (15 ft.lbs)

Fill final drive with specified grade of oil.

Final drive, removal/installation

Raise car 
Move gear selector lever to neutral. 
Ensure that parking brake is released.

Ensure that rear lifting arms are positioned clear of support arms and brackets.
