Convertible Top Latch Actuator: Service and Repair
Front Lock Motor

Before starting work, see CHA. Preparations Before Work. See: Service and Repair/Procedures

CHE3 Removal of Motor, Front Lock:

-

Move the hood to the position shown in the image.

-

Ignition off.

-

Make a note of any radio code.

-

Disconnect the battery negative lead.

Remove:
-

compartment cover from hood for front lock motor.

-

connector.

-

2 nuts from lock motor.

NOTE:  Hold motor up with tool to avoid splitting rubber motor supports.

-

Turn motor and pull out drive wires from lock.

-

Remove drive wires located in spline joint.

Remove motor.

CHE4 Installation of Motor, Front Lock:

Install in reverse order.
