Tighten to 70 Nm.

the wheels.

Lubricate the hub guide for the wheel with rust inhibitor, part number 1161030-0.

Fit the bolts and tighten loosely. Then tighten in crosswise sequence to 110 Nm.
NOTE: See specifications "Wheels and hubs, front suspension".

Fill the servo reservoir with oil and bleed the system.

Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock repeatedly. Top off with oil as necessary.

Lower the car.

Apply the parking brake. Start the engine. Check the oil level while bleeding the system as described below.
A. Turn the steering wheel slowly to the right, hold it at full lock for 10 seconds.
B. Turn the steering wheel slowly to the left, hold it at full lock for 10 seconds
Repeat steps A and B 20 times. Move the car after 10 times to avoid damaging the tires.

Steering Gear Spacers, Installation
Spacers must be installed at each end of the steering gear if the car is equipped with 16 inch. or 17 inch. wheels, and with tires of 205 mm or more in
width, see below, to avoid contact between the tires and body at full wheel lock.
The spacers also serve to reduce the force exerted on the control arm by the wheel lock limiter on the steering knuckle, reducing the level of noise which
may occur at full lock. The spacers comprise part of a kit P/N 271800-5.
NOTE: This modification increases the turning circle by 0.3 - 0.5 meters.
As a further noise reduction measure, the wheel lock limiter may, if required, be ground back.
NOTE: This applies only to cars with aluminum control arms.
