Pump A:

S60, S80, V70, XC70 with gasoline and diesel engines up to and including 2003 week 09

S60, V70, XC70 with gasoline and diesel engines from and including 2003 week 10 (does not apply to B5244T4, B5244T5, B5254T2)
-
S80 with the following engines: B5244S, S2, SG, SG2 and B5204T from and including 2003 week 10.
Pump B:
-
S60 R and V70 R
-
S80 with diesel engines from and including 2003 week 10

V70, XC70, S60, S80 with the following engines from and including week 10 2003: B5244T4, B5244T5, B5254T2.
Checks / Conditions
For control to be as exact as possible the following conditions must be met:

The vehicle must be equipped with summer tires on the front wheels, with pressures according to the decal on the fuel tank filler cover.

That the surface beneath the front wheels resembles a dry asphalt metalled road.
Leak checking
Note! Check for leakage in the connections on the power steering pump or on the steering gear before carrying out the measurements below.
Checking the pump capacity
Close the cock for a maximum of 5 seconds. If the pump is fault free, the manometer pressure increases to correct value:
Pump A = 10.0-11.0 MPa
Pump B = 11.0-12.0 MPa
The pump must be replaced if the pressure is outside the above values.
Switch off the engine.
