V40 L4-1.9L Turbo VIN 25 B4204T2 (2000)
-
Connect special tool 998 8695 to the steering wheel module connector. This is so the car can be driven without the SRS on-board diagnostic
(OBD) system storing a diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
-
If the ignition is switched on when neither special tool or steering wheel module are connected, an open-circuit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will
be stored. (Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) must be cleared.)
Removing the steering wheel
-
Position the car with the wheels pointing straight ahead.
-
Undo the steering wheel center bolt.

-
Remove the central nut and take the steering wheel off (wiring/pull and lift it off).
-
Remove special tool 998 8695.
CAUTION: Do not turn the steering wheel when the contact reel is locked as the contact reel pin will break off.
