Installing protective film

Protective film should be applied to the bodywork to avoid damage to the paintwork on the bodywork caused by the bumper cover.
Clean the surface under the bumper cover where the protective film is to be installed. See the illustration.
Use protective film P/N 951 1089.
Cut a piece that is 500 mm long (A) and 25 mm wide (B).
Install the protective film as illustrated. Start 5 mm from the tailgate / edge molding.
Ensure that there are no air bubbles between the protective film and the bodywork.

Paint repairs to the bottom swell

Vehicles without plastic protection for the rocker panel have an extra slit protection coat on the bottom swell which is made of polyester.
When the bottom swell is changed or when sanding through to the sheet metal, the paintwork should be reconstructed as follows.
