Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

Replacing EVAP Canister 

Removing fuel tank 

-

Remove the fuel tank.

Removing the EVAP canister 

WARNING:  Protective gloves and protective goggles should be used for the following operations because of the risk of fuel spillage.

Remove: 

-

connector/outlet. Press in the catch and pull

-

Connector/inlet. Press in the catch and pull

-

three screws holding the canister

-

outlet hose from the leak diagnostic pump.

Installing the EVAP canister 
In reverse order.

Reinstall fuel tank 

-

Reinstall fuel tank according to Fuel tank, replacing.

Finishing 
Check that the fuel line and fuel pipes are installed so that they do not rub or cause rattling.
Start the engine and check for fuel leakage.
Proceed to VADIS vehicle communication and carry out the leak diagnostic test.
