V70 2.4 L5-2.4L VIN 61 B5244S (2001)
Remove and discard the rubber gasket (2).
Install a new rubber gasket.
Remove and discard the buttons (3).
Install new buttons.
Position the printed circuit board and rubber gasket in the keyless remote control.
Install the cover and the key ring with the new screw (1). Replace the buttons and gasket on the car's other keyless remote control.
Test all the functions on the keyless remote controls.
NOTE:
If any remote function does not operate, the keyless remote control must be replaced and programmed according to VADIS.

Volvo Cars of North America, LLC and Volvo Cars of Canada Ltd. have determined that the keyless remote controls for certain MY 2001
S60/V70/V70XC and S80 vehicles may intermittently malfunction. In some instances, the buttons on the keyless remote control can stick in the active
position. This condition could result in unintended or prolonged activation of one of the keyless remote control functions. If this occurs, however, the
driver can always lock and unlock or start the car by using the ignition key.
The remotes need to be upgraded with a new rubber gasket and buttons which prevent the buttons from being stuck in the active position.
Note:
If a car has already had any of the above symptoms and if the keyless remote control was replaced by P/N 9452455, 9452456, or 9452457, it is still
recommended to upgrade that keyless remote control with the service kit.
Approximately 82,318 vehicles in the United States and 4,774 vehicles in Canada are affected.

An initial allocation representing 40% of the vehicles retailed or in stock at your retail facility will be made starting on or about the week of February 18,

After the initial allocation the part will be accepted for order under both order types (stock and critical).
