Removal

Remove the:

-

splash pan

-

four screws for the front cross member

-

screws for the exhaust pipe mounting in the front cross member

-

brake pipe from its holder in the member

-

clamp for the wiring for the heated oxygen sensor from the subframe.

Installing, marking and drilling

Raise the exhaust system. Use a jack stand. Hold the bracket on the subframe.
Centre the console in relation to the mounting on the catalytic converter/exhaust pipe.
Mark the positions of the holes (A) on the subframe.
Vehicles where the heated oxygen sensor wiring is attached at the right side with a clip a new hole (B) has to be made.
Mark for a new hole (B) for the heated oxygen sensor wiring so that it is approximately 10 mm to the right of the bracket.

Remove the:

-

the bracket

-

the mounting from the three-way catalytic converter (TWC)/exhaust pipe (S80 only).

Drill:

-

two pilot holes (A) using a 3 mm (1/8") drill bit

-

enlarge using a 11 mm (7/16") drill bit

-

hole (B) for the heated oxygen sensor wiring using a 5 mm (13/64") drill.
