RECALL CAMPING 104 DESCRIPTION

Volvo Cars of North America, Inc. and Volvo Cars of Canada Ltd. have determined that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists in the rear
outboard seat belt anchorage points of certain model year 2001 S80 and V70 vehicles.

Volvo has found that, in some of these vehicles, the rear outboard seat belt anchorage bolts may be incorrectly tightened. An incorrectly tightened
bolt may give the seat belt insufficient restraining performance.

The corrective action will consist of tightening the bolts to the correct torque level.

Approximately 1,973 vehicles in the US and 17 vehicles in Canada are affected.

This mailing is expected to begin during the week of May 7, 2001.
