Removal
Removing the center console
Remove the center console. See Center console, replacing See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Center Console,
Replacing.
Removing gear selector lever knob
Remove the gear selector lever knob.
For vehicles -2004, as described in Replacing the gear selector lever knob See: Gear Selector Lever Knob, Replacing.
For vehicles 2005-, as described in Gear selector lever knob, replacing, M58, M56, B5244T5, M66 See: Gear Selector Lever Knob, Replacing.
Removing the gear selector assembly and cables
Remove:
-
the catch at the gear selector
-
the connector on the lever bracket.
Lift the front mounting for the mechanical cable out of the front edge of the lever bracket.
Fold up the gear selector assembly. Remove the catch from the gear selector lever.
Lift the front mounting for the mechanical cable out of the lever bracket. Remove the gear selector assembly.
Transfer the support sleeve from the gear selector lever.
