Air Bag: Service and Repair
Replacement Procedure (Driver's)
CDA. Removal Of Steering Wheel Airbag Module, Steering Wheel And Contact Reel.
Disassembly
Special tools: 998 8695
CDA1. Preparation
Make a note of any radio code.
Ignition off.
Disconnect the battery negative lead.
WARNING! When assembling turn the ignition key to position II, then connect the battery negative lead. Make sure that nobody is inside the car
when connecting the battery.
CDA2. Turning The Ignition Key To Position I
WARNING! Make sure the battery is disconnected before disconnecting or connecting the ignition wire.
Turn the ignition key to position I to unlock the steering lock.
CDA3. Loosen The Steering Wheel Screws
Loosen the two screws (Torx 30) at the back of the steering wheel. Do not remove the screws, leave them in the recesses of the steering wheel.
Turn the steering wheel to get to the screws.
CDA4. Removal of steering wheel airbag module
