Disconnect the connector and lift the steering wheel air bag module out.
WARNING! Never use an ohmmeter or any other charged measuring instrument on a disconnected, unreleased airbag module. There is a risk
that the module could be released! Also,do not disassemble or repair the steering wheel airbag module or install it in another vehicle.
CDA5. Positioning the steering wheel airbag module
CAUTION! When the unreleased steering wheel airbag module is removed, position the module metal-side down (i.e. the back) in a place where
it will be protected from careless handling.
CDA6. Connecting the special tools
Connect special tool 998 8695 to the steering wheel airbag module connector. This enables the car to be driven without the SRS diagnosis system
registering a diagnostic trouble code.
HINT: If the ignition is switched on when neither the steering wheel airbag module nor the special tool is connected, a diagnostic trouble code
registering an open circuit will appear. Erase any diagnostic trouble code.
