Note! The gear selector knob may be reused a maximum of four times
Press the gear selector knob so that it locks in the lever.
If necessary: Use a sheet plastic hammer and a shim to carefully hit the knob down on to the gear selector lever.
Pull the locking sleeve with the boot straight up so that it locks on the knob.
Check
Check that the lock function operates in its positions.

Removal

Detaching the boot and removing the gear selector knob
Detach the boot from the gear selector. Remove the gear selector knob. See Gear selector knob, Geartronic, replacing, B8444S, TF-80SC AWD,

Angle the top panel with the boot away from the gear selector lever.
