Then loosen both hinge bolts from the left hinge of the lower tailgate section. Place a large screwdriver I between the pin head and the loose right
side bolt.

While pushing the screwdriver firmly to the right, retighten the bolts to secure the hinge in this position. Torque the bolts to 18.5 lb ft (25 Nm).

To prevent corrosion, apply appropriate touch up paint on bolts and around hinges where paint is damaged.
