XC90 AWD V8-4.4L VIN 85 B8444S (2005)
Place a receptacle under the engine's oil sump at the oil plug.
Remove the oil plug. Scrap the gasket.
Removing the oil filter
Position the container under the oil filter.
Remove the oil filter housing. Use oil filter wrench: 999 5679 Oil filter spanner See: Tools and Equipment/999 5679 Oil Filter Spanner.
Refit the oil plug. Tighten as specified. Use a new sealing washer.
Removing the oil filter insert
Remove:
-
the filter insert from the housing
-
the O-ring that seals between the housing and the oil trough.
Allow the filter insert to drain and then discard it in an approved place.
