Status and value of the compressor torque transmitted to the control unit in the dash panel insert -J285- and the voltage transmitted to terminals “58d” and “58s”

Intended to indicate the compressor torque status transmitted to the control unit in the dash panel insert -J285-
t  Display = 0
–  Transmitted compressor torque is no longer valid
t  Display = 1
–  Transmitted compressor torque is up-to-date
l  Data is transmitted via the convenience data bus
l  Displayed if, for example, the engine is not running and no calculation occurs.
2Display zone is currently not used
Intended to indicate the engine torque status required to operate the compressor, calculated by the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- and transmitted to the control unit in the dash panel insert -J285-
t  Display = 0
–  Compressor off (the air conditioner compressor regulating valve -N280- is not actuated)
t  Display = 1..... XX Nm
–  Compressor on (the air conditioner compressor regulating valve -N280- is actuated)
l  Data is transmitted via the convenience data bus
l  Is displayed if, for example, when “ECON” is set on the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87-.
l  The torque is determined by various factors (e.g. ambient temperature, relative humidity, pressure in the refrigerant circuit, etc.)

–  Depending on the setting of the controller for switch and instrument illumination -E20-
l  Data is transmitted via the convenience data bus
l  The illumination in the display on the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- is controlled via the voltage at terminal “58d”
4Voltage at terminal “58s” transmitted by the control unit in the dash panel insert -J285-
t  Display = 0....100%
–  Depending on the setting of the controller for switch and instrument illumination -E20-
–  With parking lights switched off - below 5%
l  Data is transmitted via the convenience data bus
l  The illumination of the switches on the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- is controlled via the voltage at terminal “58s”
–  If “0%” is displayed, the switches are not illuminated

  Note
The voltage at terminal “58d” for illuminating the display is always output by the control unit in the dash panel insert -J285- when the ignition is on.
