Special tools and workshop equipment required

• ◆ Vacuum hand pump V.A.G 1390

Test requirements:

• ● Vacuum pipes and hose connections do not leak.
• ● Vacuum pipes not clogged.

Test sequence

• ‒ → Remove engine cover -arrows-.

• ‒ → Detach vacuum hose -1- from combination valve.
• ‒ Connect hand vacuum pump V.A.G 1390 to vacuum unit of combination valve.

• ‒ → Detach pressure hose -arrow- at secondary air pump.
• ‒ Blow into pipe with slight pressure (do not use compressed air).
• ‒ The combination valve must be closed; blowing through must not be possible.
• ‒ Actuate hand vacuum pump.
• ‒ The combination valve must open; blowing through must be possible

If the combination valve does not open:

• ‒ Replace combination valve => Page 26-76.
