Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the brake booster. For additional information, refer to Section  206-07 Power Brake Actuation.

  1. Remove the right - hand brake pedal cross - shaft support bracket lower bolt.

  1. Remove the booster actuator rod retainer.

  1. Remove the right - hand brake pedal cross - shaft support bracket nuts.

  1. Remove the right - hand brake pedal cross - shaft support bracket and detach the bearing.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The bracket nuts are located under the noise vehicle harshness (NVH) padding. The NVH padding will have to be locally removed to gain restricted access to the nuts.
    Remove the left - hand brake pedal cross - shaft support/booster bracket nuts.

  1. Loosen the left - hand brake pedal cross - shaft support bracket bolt.
    • Relocate the bracket.

  1. Detach the brake pedal cross - shaft return spring.

  1. Remove the left - hand brake pedal cross - shaft support bracket.

  1. Remove the bearing from the left - hand brake pedal cross - shaft support bracket.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
