Removal and Installation

Removal

Vehicles with manual roof opening panel

  1. Remove the roof opening panel handle.
All vehicles

  1. Detach the front interior lamp.

  1. Disconnect the front interior lamp electrical connectors and remove the front interior lamp.
Vehicles with manual roof opening panel

  1. Remove the overhead console.
All vehicles
  1. Remove the A-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section  501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation.

  1. Remove the sun visors.

  1. Remove the sun visor retaining clips.

  1. Remove the roof opening panel weatherstrip.
  1. Carefully detach the front edge of the headliner to allow access to the GSM antenna cable.

  1. Detach the GSM antenna cable from the AM/FM antenna cable (headliner shown removed for clarity).

  1. Detach the GSM antenna from the windshield.

  1. Cut the GSM antenna cable.
    • Discard the GSM antenna cable.

  1. Remove the glove compartment.

  1. Remove the recirculation air duct.

  1. Detach the GSM antenna cable from the AM/FM antenna cable.

  1. Cut the GSM antenna cable.

  1. Disconnect the GSM antenna cable in-line electrical connector from telematics control module fly lead electrical connector and remove the GSM antenna cable.
    • Discard the GSM antenna cable.

Installation

All vehicles
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Use an alcohol swab to clean the windshield before installing the antenna.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new GSM antenna.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:The GSM antenna must be installed in the correct position.
    Install the GSM antenna cable onto the windshield. For additional information, refer to the Description and Operation.

  1. Using suitable tie straps, attach the GSM antenna cable to the AM/FM antenna cable (headliner shown removed for clarity).

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the GSM antenna cable will connect to the telematics control module in-line electrical connector.
    Using suitable tie straps, attach the GSM antenna cable to the instrument panel wiring harness.

  1. Using suitable tie straps attach the GSM antenna cable to the AM/FM antenna cable.

  1. Connect the GSM antenna cable in-line electrical connector to the telematics control module fly lead electrical connector.

  1. Install the recirculation air duct.

  1. Install the glove compartment.
  1. Attach the headliner.

  1. Install the roof opening panel weatherstrip.
  1. Install the A-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section  501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation.

  1. Install the sun visors.

  1. Install the sun visor retaining clips.

  1. Connect the front interior lamp electrical connectors.

  1. Install the front interior lamp.
